So this is my very first post for this amazing blog I have been invited to join. For those of you who know me I have to say you all must be thinking the same thing I am....."Are these girls nuts to include me? Have they lost their minds?" For those of you who have yet to have met me maybe I should tell you a bit about me first so we are all asking the same question.
Hi, My name is Kristen and I love all things seedy. No not the gutter kind of seedy the beady kind of seedy. I have been playing with seed beads for almost 4 years now. I am totally hooked on all the crazy, cool and beautiful ways they come together. I was so over the top excited to be asked to join this group of amazingly talented and frankly sweet group of artists. But what do I really have to contribute?
Beaded Beads and components that's what! I have made them and very much enjoy looking at what others can create with them. So here is my first installment in the AJE!
I was gathering a ton of pictures of amazing beads and patterns that are out there and then I thought it would be cool to create my first treasury on ETSY. I have included some of my favorite designers and sellers of beaded beads as well as new artists I came across while compiling this pretty treasury.
Go check it out. There are beaded bead patterns and beaded beads that can be purchased for those who love them and have always wanted to use them. I am also working on a little freebie beaded bead pattern of my own for you but as of yet nothing original has come to me. Are you intrested in crystal and seeds or just seeds if you were going to make your own? Give me an idea and I will put it to work. Also I will be creating some of my own beaded beads and components for a component of the month as well as..............shhhhhhh don't tell but I will also hopefully be collaborating with a friend to be able to offer some sets in a shop very soon.
So what do you think? Should they still keep me on?
Very truly yours,
Kristen
Welcome Kristen, I'm exciting to have somebody with your talent join our group!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kristi! I am excited as well!
DeleteYay! Finally a seed beader! I am so happy to see you! I am a weaver myself :) Welcome!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are happy. Is there anything you would like me to feature?
DeleteThey should definitely keep you on!! I'm so glad that you have a new chance to expand your art publicly!! GO Kristen!! xxx
ReplyDeleteWell you are one of the best cheerleaders I have so I am thrilled you are enjoying this new journey with me!
DeleteThey have a winner with you, Kristen. Your 'beady' enthusiasm bubbles over!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you liked this first post. I do so love my seedy side!!!
DeleteWe won't let her leave even if she wanted too, lol! Nice to have a seed beader on board! I have no idea how you tolerate working with all those itty bitty beads!
ReplyDeleteWell D you I know you won't let me go anywhere! And just so you know I also have no clue how you work with fire and not end up in bandages from head to toe! LOL
DeleteCongratulations Miss Kristen! You make some absolutely marvelous beaded creations. I know! I have been blessed with a few. I cannot fathom why you like all things seed beady since they give me a headache and I am constantly stepping on them littering my floor, but it makes me happy that someone can wrangle them into submission, sort of like herding cats, and get them to line up and dazzle! Bravo to you for being a part of this special place. Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteWell Miss Erin you are partly to blame for the unleashing of me further into the beading community! Thank you!
DeleteYeah - what Diana said! How amazed I am every time I see all those tiny beads woven into such beautiful pieces of art jewelry!! Lovely!! congrats!
ReplyDeleteI know you are so that is why I am here to show what others can do with them and how you can get your hands on some!
DeleteCongratulations, Kristen! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see either! LOL
DeleteI knew when I started this group that I wanted to find a seedy person who made components to join us. I am so glad it was you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for choosing me and I am so very happy to be a part of this amazing group!
DeleteHi Kristen,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, this group made a good choice when they chose you to represent us seedy people ;-)! I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful beaded bead components you create. I think that you know that I like Bling, so yes it is crystals and seeds for me.
Therese
WOW Therese you sure know how to boost my ego! And yes I will make sure bling is totally part of my posts!
DeleteFor those of us who are dedicated seed beaders, I applaud their choice! This should be fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much. I hope I can live up to everyone's expectations!
DeleteWay cool, Kristen. I hadn't heard of this group before but I'll be following them now, especially with you here! Congratulations and have fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend! I think this will be a lot of fun too!
DeleteHi Kristen, Love the beaded beads. I have made a couple of beaded beads and love them alot. Too bad that The Art Bead Scene Blog challenges don't recognize beaded beads as art beads, because each beaded bead can be unique.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you that some do not see beaded beads as Art beads but you will be surprised how few that number really is. I intend to change opinions that is for sure!
DeleteOur focus at AJE is handmade components used in art jewelry. I think just about everyone agrees that it takes an incredible amount of skill and patience to create a component out of seed beads. I've tried it myself and nearly ripped my hair out ;-)
DeleteWelcome! I haved loved reading your blog and you are one talented lady!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am so glad you enjoy my posts!
DeleteWell, congratulations! You may not see it, but those who follow your blog already know you deserve this. I love all things seedy as well. As many seed beaders I always have some 3mm & 4mm crystals around. The little sparkle makes those who don't understand the interesting challenge of seed beads immediately accept our work.
ReplyDeleteGinger I am totally blushing! And like I told Therese you will be seeing crystals and pearls alot from me. I love me some bling!
DeleteWow! Congratulations my seed beady friend! They are lucky to have you join them. And thanks for sharing the treasury, I had fun going through the links!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you had fun with the treasury. I have to totally give props to Kristi for getting the Treasury to work.
DeleteWonderful 1st post Kristen. And it looks like it's off to a rousing success. Won't be long and you'll be a Blog Star. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs - Anna
Anna you are so sweet! I am blushing!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kristen! I love beaded beads and can't wait to see your next post! =)
