Well are you ready for this?

So this is my very first post for this amazing blog I have been invited to join.  For those of you who know me I have to say you all must be thinking the same thing I am....."Are these girls nuts to include me?  Have they lost their minds?"  For those of you who have yet to have met me maybe I should tell you a bit about me first so we are all asking the same question.

Hi, My name is Kristen and I love all things seedy.  No not the gutter kind of seedy the beady kind of seedy.  I have been playing with seed beads for almost 4 years now.  I am totally hooked on all the crazy, cool and beautiful ways they come together.  I was so over the top excited to be asked to join this group of amazingly talented and frankly sweet group of artists.  But what do I really have to contribute?

Beaded Beads and components that's what!  I have made them and very much enjoy looking at what others can create with them.  So here is my first installment in the AJE!

I was gathering a ton of pictures of amazing beads and patterns that are out there and then I thought it would be cool to create my first treasury on ETSY. I have included some of my favorite designers and sellers of beaded beads as well as new artists I came across while compiling this pretty treasury.
Go check it out.  There are beaded bead patterns and beaded beads that can be purchased for those who love them and have always wanted to use them.  I am also working on a little freebie beaded bead pattern of my own for you but as of yet nothing original has come to me.  Are you intrested in crystal and seeds or just seeds if you were going to make your own?  Give me an idea and I will put it to work.  Also I will be creating some of my own beaded beads and components for a component of the month as well as..............shhhhhhh don't tell but I will also hopefully be collaborating with a friend to be able to offer some sets in a shop very soon.

So what do you think?  Should they still keep me on?

Very truly yours,
Kristen

  6. Congratulations Miss Kristen! You make some absolutely marvelous beaded creations. I know! I have been blessed with a few. I cannot fathom why you like all things seed beady since they give me a headache and I am constantly stepping on them littering my floor, but it makes me happy that someone can wrangle them into submission, sort of like herding cats, and get them to line up and dazzle! Bravo to you for being a part of this special place. Enjoy the day. Erin

  10. Hi Kristen,
Congratulations, this group made a good choice when they chose you to represent us seedy people ;-)! I am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful beaded bead components you create. I think that you know that I like Bling, so yes it is crystals and seeds for me.

  13. Hi Kristen, Love the beaded beads. I have made a couple of beaded beads and love them alot. Too bad that The Art Bead Scene Blog challenges don't recognize beaded beads as art beads, because each beaded bead can be unique.

    1. I do agree with you that some do not see beaded beads as Art beads but you will be surprised how few that number really is. I intend to change opinions that is for sure!

    2. Our focus at AJE is handmade components used in art jewelry. I think just about everyone agrees that it takes an incredible amount of skill and patience to create a component out of seed beads. I've tried it myself and nearly ripped my hair out ;-)

  15. Well, congratulations! You may not see it, but those who follow your blog already know you deserve this. I love all things seedy as well. As many seed beaders I always have some 3mm & 4mm crystals around. The little sparkle makes those who don't understand the interesting challenge of seed beads immediately accept our work.
