Global Genes/7000 Bracelets For Hope

Many of you have probably heard of Global Genes/7000 Bracelets For Hope.  If you haven't, Global Genes is a rare disease patient advocacy group.  Their mission is to build awareness of rare diseases and provide families with networks and resources to deal with their multiple challenges.  They have asked jewelry designers to provide blue bracelets, and I have personally held a blog hop to promote this idea.

Patti Vanderbloemen has donated over 100 bracelets and has asked me several times to make blue beads for this purpose.  This summer, she once again asked me to make beads.  She doesn't ask for a donation either, she fully pays for all the materials she uses to make the bracelets.  This is what I sent her right before Bead Fest (all photos are Patti's property) :

She doesn't ask for specific beads other than the main color is blue.  This can be fun because you can use your imagination!

Here are some bracelets she made with the beads from above:

There are certainly many charities you can donate your money, time or talent to, and this is just one of them!  If you are so inclined, you can visit Global Genes and find out more about their mission and organization.  And if you wish, you can donate blue bracelets to them here:

Thanks to Patti for allowing me to use her photos today; you can visit her etsy store here.  She's having a sale with all proceeds benefitting Miracle Horse Rescue.

  4. Here I thought that they had quit collecting bracelets. That's why I choose to go with Ears To You for my charity this year. I will switch back to Global Genes for next year.
